GOAL
AIRTREE (Aggregated Interpretation of the Energy Balance and Water Dynamics for Ecosystem Services Assessment) is a one-dimensional multilayer model that couples soil, plants and atmospheric processes to predict carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapor (H2O) exchangestropospheric ozone (O3), particulates (PM10 and PM2.5) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) between the leaves and the atmosphere and integrates them through five layers to obtain flow at the top.
RESULT
The model can be used to plan urban reforestation, based on specific data on the climate of each location and how different tree species interact with it.
